Week 1: Learn the language.
Explore assets, threats, risk, and the security goals of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Pick a familiar service and explain what each goal means for it.
Week 2: Understand the connections.
Learn what a client, server, address, protocol, and encrypted connection do. Draw a simple diagram of what happens when you open a university website.
Week 3: Make safer decisions.
Review account protection, multi-factor authentication, phishing awareness, updates, and backups. Practice describing why a particular decision reduces risk.
Week 4: Choose a direction.
Try a defensive reasoning exercise, explore secure software concepts, or examine governance and risk. Notice which kind of problem holds your attention.
Keep a learning notebook.
Record the concept, an example, what you tried, and what remains unclear. A short reflection after each activity helps you notice progress and choose the next step.
